Upcoming Events

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know about a few exhibitions that are coming up.

The Watercolour Society Exhibition is on this weekend in Fremantle. There are some absolutely beautiful Watercolour artworks on display so well worth a look.

While you are in Fremantle I have one painting displayed at the Old Customs House, Phillimore Street, Fremantle. The Salon Exhibition staged by Artsource is so diverse and the heritage building with its high ceilings and brilliant light is a joy to visit.

I have been teaching as a relief teacher at the Tresillian Arts Centre. I have had some really lovely students and it reminds me why I enjoy teaching watercolours. I have been asked to teach a Beginners Watercolour Class in term 4 and next year I will have a different class in term 1. I have two paintings on display at the Tresillian Centre (21 Tyrell St, Nedlands) at the moment as a part of the Student/Tutor Exhibition.

This weekend I have paintings in two country Exhibitions if you feel like a drive to the country. York and a little further afield in the wheatbelt town of Kondinin. Being a country girl I love to support the country Exhibitions.

Last but certainly not least! I am a part of the Perth Art Upmarket once again. This is such a fabulous event showcasing over 60 of the best Artists from W.A. I will have my own booth on the ground floor of Winthrop Hall. I would love to see you there. You will have the chance to win one of my original watercolours.

Thank you once again for your interest in my art and support of my art practice. I really do appreciate it.

Cheers for now

Stephanie

Perth Upmarket

It was really lovely to meet so many new faces at the Perth Upmarket on Sunday. I hope I didn’t bore you chatting about Art and my art practice. You can see by the sheer volume of artwork I have that I am passionate about painting and spend lots of hours creating in my studio/shed.

The winner of my give away, $100 towards any of my paintings framed or unframed. is Suzanna.

Congratulations to Suzanna.

I know there were some people keen to win this prize. I would like to offer 25% off all my paintings framed and unframed this weekend only. You are welcome to visit me at my studio by appointment only. I have a lot more paintings available that I simply didn’t have the room to show at Perth Upmarket.

Please contact me - stephanieboyle14@gmail.com or ph 0409 647033 to arrange an appointment.

I also spoke to some people regarding an Upcoming Workshop on 11th & 12th July. You will find details for this on my last blog on my website - Upcoming Workshop written on 29th May. I still have limited spaces available so if you contact me ASAP I should be able to fit you in. This can be for beginners and I will be happy to supply materials at a small cost to save you spending lots of money on products.

Upcoming Workshop

I will be holding a Workshop EXPLORING ABSTRACTION at the War Widows Guild, 15 Plantation Street, Menora.

Thursday 11th July and Friday 12th July 2019 10.00am - 4.00 pm both days.

Here is a chance for you to explore the beautiful Watercolour medium in a non-representative style.

We will discuss the difference between an Abstract painting and a semi Abstract painting. You will be encouraged to apply a loose approach to your painting. We will achieve this with big, bold rush strokes and a limited palette.

Have some fun while we experiment with Watercolour pens, wax crayons, inks and so much more. We will be discovering new and different methods to apply to our Art practice. Let us leave behind the fear of splashing paint around and being confronted by a blank piece of paper. I am loving pushing the boundaries with Watercolour painting and can’t wait to share my different ideas and techniques.

$120 for the 2 day workshop for WSWA Members $150 for non-members.

Beginners are encouraged to attend.

Please contact me to book or if you have any questions. Your place will only be secure once you have paid.

Bank details for the Watercolour Society of WA are as follows: BSB 066192 Account 10254673

As the reference please put your SURNAME WSB (eg SmithWSB) and let me know when payment has been made so I can add your name to the list.

Email: stephanieboyle14@gmail.com

Ta and Coffee will be supplied. Please bring your own lunch.

Materials List:

Good quality Watercolour paper. I have been painting on the back of old paintings which is quite OK. Your usual Watercolour paints, brushes and equipment. Wax crayons, Watercolour inks, masking fluid. Please do not stress about buying new products but bring along anything we could give a test run.

Love to see you.

Perth Art Upmarket

Hi Everyone,

Well what a day it was on Saturday! The Perth Art Upmarket proved to be a very special and rewarding event but totally exhausting at the same time. It was absolutely fantastic to meet so many people interested in Art and I can’t thank you enough for coming along. It makes it all worthwhile for the organizers and the Artists.

Thank you for adding your name to my mailing list with the chance to win the painting below. I am delighted to say that the winner of the painting is Meg. She was so happy and commented that she never wins anything! This in turn made me feel good so I hope to have more paintings to give away in the future. Stay tuned for a Mother’s Day give away!

It was wonderful to chat to so many people at the Art Upmarket. It does give me some appreciation of what people are looking for. I had people enquiring about art workshops and classes. I have taught watercolours for many years starting at the Claremont School of Art, Tresillian Art Centre, Atwell Gallery and Canning Art Centre. I don’t teach on a regular basis because I like to have the freedom to travel but I do conduct workshops from home and wherever I am asked to do them. My workshops from home are very small so I can give lots of attention to my students. I feel you deserve this, especially when tackling the watercolour medium for the first time.

If you are interested in participating in a Beginners Watercolour Class can you please email me and let me know if a weekend or weekday would suit you best. All materials are supplied for a beginners class to avoid an initial outlay for products you may not use again. I also offer a one to one lesson with Watercolours and it is amazing what you can achieve in a short amount of time. I would work out what suited you and teach accordingly. Once again please email with any questions you may have. When I told a lady what I would charge for this service she was not scared off and hopefully we will do it!!!!

I would also like you to know that if you have purchased a painting from me in the past I am always happy to give my return customers a discount. I really appreciate you buying a painting form me and I love to hear the stories of where they are hanging and how they still bring joy after many years.

You are always very welcome to come to my studio to view any of my paintings. Please give me some warning though so I can clear a path. I get myself in a real mess when I am in action!

Once again it was lovely to meet you on Saturday and to see my wonderfully supportive friends and past customers.

Thank you and Cheers from Stephanie Boyle

AND THE WINNER IS ……………MEG. CONGRATULATIONS!

Art Upmarket

Hi Everyone

I seem to be chasing my tail at the moment because I am involved in a really exciting event this Saturday that I wanted to let you know about. The Art Upmarket is happening at Winthrop Hall, The University of Western Australia, April 6th 2019, 10am - 4pm. For more information www.perthupmarket.com.au.

I participated last year and already it has doubled in size with over 80 Artists taking part. I will have my own booth with framed and unframed original artwork for sale. All the artists and event organizers are beavering away to ensure it is going to be a fabulous event. I am on the bottom floor so please come along and say HI! There is free parking and entry. One day only!

It is a busy time of the year for Artists. Half the time we don’t know if we are coming or going! I was delighted to win two awards at the Wagin Woolorama Art Exhibition. I have entered into the Cossack Art Award and the Beverly Art Exhibition will be held over the Easter weekend. I will have two paintings in this exhibition which is a really lovely country exhibition and worth visiting if you feel like a country drive.

There are other exhibitions in the pipeline and a workshop planned. More on that at a later date.

I would love to see you on Saturday and thanks again for your support. I would appreciate it if you encouraged your art loving friends to come to the Upmarket. I will be giving away the painting below to one lucky person who signs up to my mailing list on the day.

Upcoming Events

Firstly I would like to thank the special people who came to my Open Studio yesterday. It is always lovely to discuss art with people who share my interest in creating. My studio is now clean and tidy but I know it won’t stay that way for long!

I wanted to let you know about some upcoming events that I am involved in at the moment.

I was thrilled to be asked to exhibit at the Juniper Gallery as part of the Mainly Miniatures Art Exhibition. I have always been a huge admirer of the late Robert Juniper’s stunning and highly collectable Artwork. The gallery is nestled in the amazing surrounds of Darlington with views of the city in the distance. I can highly recommend a visit to the Exhibition. Patricia Juniper is a wonderful, warm and inviting host.

Please note the Exhibition runs until the 16th December not the 23rd December.

I am a part of a talented and inspiring group of women called the JUST 10 CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS. We walk on a regular basis then share a coffee and chat about all things related to art. The life of an Artist can often be a solitary existence so to be able to share and discuss our practice with like minded Artists is a real benefit.

Our next Exhibition will be a POP-UP-EVENT One night Only.

Friday 30 November, 5.30pm City of Perth, Surf Lifesaving Club,

Challenger Parade, City Beach.

Homemade pasta by John St Café - $15. Wine tasting and Cheese

The club cash bar will be open. A community family event.

On Saturday 1st December The Watercolour Society of W.A. has been given the exciting opportunity to Exhibit at the very impressive At Contempo Studio , 242 Stirling Highway, Claremont 10am-2pm. Please note this Exhibition is running for a very limited time so you will have to be quick. Details below.

I also have some Artwork hanging at the magnificent Collie Art Gallery, Collie, W.A. The Kaleidoscope Exhibition is a collaboration of Artists from the Watercolour Society of W.A. The Exhibition will run until the 16th December.

It is all Happening!

Cheers for now

Open Studio

I can’t believe how quickly this year has passed by. 2018 is racing to a close. I don’t know if it is because I am getting older or because I keep very busy with my art and set a hectic pace. It never used to be like this as a child when the years would drag by and the school holidays seemed to take an eternity to reach.

I really appreciate your ongoing support and interest in my Art. I am Opening my Studio to celebrate the year that was. I would love to invite you to view my artwork in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.

All my Original Artwork, Framed and Unframed will be for sale. It’s time for me to clear some space so I can feel free and liberated to continue creating. My reasonably priced artworks make a wonderful unique gift. I know I am biased when I say it but I know that Original Art turns a house into a home.

I look forward to seeing you at my Open Studio, One Day Only.

Mixed Media Class and Art Update

Wow! What a response the Artists of Perth received to the first Art Upmarket at the University of W.A. on Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many people taking such an interest in our craft by turning up in large numbers. It was very much appreciated and a heartening boost to our art practice.

I have never ventured down the line of producing prints of my Artwork.  It was very gratifying that people are delighted to have an original painting hanging on their wall.  I know what a huge difference a well chosen painting can make to any home.  I loved the fact that people were buying a little gem of a painting with the prospect of placing it beside other treasures and making a very individual statement.  For more information and ideas on how to hang your paintings google; Gallery walls.  If you need any recommendations on Framers please contact me and I will be able to point you in the right direction.

There was a lot of interest in my Mixed Media art work and requests for me to teach a class.

I apologise for the lack of notice but I am a mad keen Eagles Football fan and there is no football on this weekend.  When I have conducted classes in the past people have asked for a weekend timeslot.  If there is enough interest I can conduct a week day class.

MIXED MEDIA WORKSHOP

Date:   Saturday 1st September 2018

Time:   10am - 3pm.

Location:  25 Sunart Close, Hamersley W.A.   PH: 0409 647 033

Cost: $160 per person.  This includes all your Materials. A canvas you will be working on materials, paint, glue and more.

M/T and a Light lunch will be provided.

Please contact me on stephanieboyle14@gmail.com ASAP if you are interested.

The class size will be small so you will receive more attention.

Cheers for now

Art Upmarket

Life has been busy since my last Blog.

I was extremely fortunate to have one of my paintings chosen to be a part of an International Watercolour Art Exhibition in Maccagno Italy. The Watercolour Society of W.A. members were invited to exhibit alongside Artists from Italy, Belgium, Poland and USA.  Twelve Artists from W.A. made the journey to the beautiful town of Maccagno nestled on Lake Maggiore. The stunning vistas provided us with endless painting opportunities and of course my camera was working overtime.  It was a wonderful, fun and very arty holiday.

I have been busy entering into many group exhibitions.  I will keep you updated with information closer to the dates.  At the moment I have a painting hanging at the Cossack Art Exhibition and 5  paintings in the Morawa Art Exhibition.

It is now only three weeks until the Perth Art Upmarket.  I am really excited to be a part of this inaugural event.  A lot of hard work and preparation has taken place so I am sure the day will  be absolutely fabulous.  It will be a chance to view  and purchase from over 45 of WA's leading artists.

In the lead up to the event I will post some of my paintings for pre sale ready to be picked up on the day.  Arrangements can be made for postage at your own expense.  Please contact me if you would like to purchase a painting.

Looking Forward to 2018

The new year has arrived and already I feel it is going to be full of creativity and exciting opportunities.  As an Artist I am never quite sure what the new year will bring.  I love the interesting journeys my art has already taken me on and 2018 is already presenting possibilities.  I am never one to turn down a great opportunity.  I will keep you posted as events unfold.

I spent a lot of time creating in my studio over the Christmas break.  Experimenting, trying new and different concepts.  I have been working solidly towards entering The Collie Art Prize.  What a huge sigh of relief when I finally sent off my image and entry form just before the deadline.  I know there will be hundreds of Artists entering this exhibition from all over Australia so my chances of even getting chosen to be a finalist are very slim.  The prize money is regional Australia’s richest art prize.

I can now turn my attention the City of Stirling Summerset Festival Open Studios event.  I am thrilled to be a part of this once again.  Each the year the Open Studio event is becoming more established and eagerly anticipated by the viewing public.  It is a relaxing way to meet the Artist in their own studio and chat about their art and art practice. All the artwork will be for sale so it is a great opportunity to purchase directly from the Artist.  For me it means a huge clean up so people can actually enter my studio without tripping over something!

My new year resolution this year has been to do more plein air painting.  It’s early days but I am sticking to my goal!  There is nothing quite like getting out in the fresh air and painting in the great outdoors.  I am very fortunate that there is a very active and dedicated group of Artists in Perth who religiously get out each week and paint in many varied locations.

Thank you once again for your continued interest in my Art. I really do appreciate it.  Hopefully I will see you at the Open Studio event.

Cheers for now

Stephanie Boyle
